When listening to the Clarks new album Fast Moving Cars I wondered why they haven't hit it big yet. Then I heard a Nickelback song on the radio and I knew. People evidently like shitty music. Well, Fast Moving Cars is not shitty music but rather a fucking great cd. Here the Clarks rock out more similar to Let It Go then Another Happy Ending and there's no complaints here. Buy the fucking album and finally see Pittsburgh's best kept secret.

I just bought Fast Moving Cars today, and it certainly kicks many an ass. I'll put up a full review soon.

Right now I prefer Fast Moving Cars. Of course that could because its a newer album and I've been listening to Let It Go for four years. I also picked up a Johnny Cash album. So good in fact I will now try to sing in a low voice similar to the man in black.

I bought two albums. The first is Chris Issak's Baja Sessions. I've been listening to Roy Orbison, Issak, and various Hawaiian bands. Just low key stuff and I'm loving it. Wether it's a new musical taste or just great summer music I can't be sure. The second album is Carbon Leaf's Indian Summer. A Virginian band, the album is pretty good.

I've been stocking up on lots of Cure and Morphine lately.
Morphine is now one my favorite bands. Ever. They did not play one bad song.
I also kind of like Tom Waits, mainly his earlier stuff, but the "classic" 1999-2000 album "Mule Variations" is vastly overrated.
I also picked up this CD of classical arrangements of Led Zeppelin songs called "Symphonic Led Zeppelin" simply for the novelty. I wasn't anticipating how much ass it would kick. I was thinking it was going to be mostly synthesized, but it ended up being the London Philharmonic. I can't recommend this CD enough. The arrangement of "Stairway" alone is worth the 11 bucks I bought the album for.

Morphine is indeed awesome. But right now I only own "Cure for Pain."
I bought Franz Ferdinand's self-titled debut the other day. Really good indie rock, definitely the best new band I've heard so far this year.
I also bought the new Roots album, "The Tipping Point", which was a huge let-down. After the complex and very instrumental "Phrenology," I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the album sounds like it was put together over the course of a week.
