I picked up "Room on Fire" by the Strokes and "Everything to Everyone" by Barenaked Ladies yesterday. "Room on Fire" kicks ass- maybe not as legendary as "Is This It" but still worth getting. "Everything to Everyone" has its ups and downs- basically its another "Maroon" showing that BNL is settling down a bit. I'll have more official reviews up in a bit.

The Guess Who- Anthology (This band is a not so guilty pleasure of mine. They were one of those bands that got lost in the shuffle, except for their hit "American Woman." They have many other better songs, most of which are on display in this two disc. The tracks are also arranged chronologically, so you get to witness the transition from cute, harmless garage psychadelic rock to the harder stuff like "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature.")

I wouldn't really call No Sugar Tonight a hard song

I said harder, as in more hard than their garage stuff.

"The Doors tried to be poets but ended up druken baffons. The Guess Who had the courage to be drunked baffons thereby becoming poets."
I agree with Futekina on this one. Lots of good bands were lost in the shuffle of the 60s. (Canned Heat, the Guess Who, etc) If those bands were present we would be falling over ourselves to see them. They were just overshadowed by Gods.

I also wouldn't say that the Guess who were lost in the shuffle of the 60's.

They had a few hits, but they aren't worshipped like The Doors or Led Zeppelin are today.
In other words, a lot of people knew about 'em in the sixties, but most folks today recognize them as "The American Woman Guys."
